New recipe picks for April 24th

I chose two recipes, so I hope that won't be too much. Ree suggested that they go well together, so we will give it a try. Also, here in Oklahoma our weather is warming up, so I wanted to cook the brisket, while it isn't too hot outside :)
Let's cook "Braised Beef Brisket" pg. 160 & "Cheese Grits" pg. 164. Happy cooking!!

Those two recipes sound good. Good idea to get the oven cooking done before the heat of summer. I have never cooked grits before so it should be interesting!

Doug has had me make fried mush before. It's like grits, but you put it in the frig overnight & then for breakfast the next day you slice it, lightly coat it in flour & then fry it up & eat it with syrup or honey drizzled over it. It's a big hit with my guys. It will be interesting to see if the grits recipe tastes like the mush :)
